Amidst the bustle of hipsters and hippies, tantric charms and luminous ornaments, wafts of chicken chow mein and Oreo gooeys in the famed Stables Market stalls, emerges a new force. It promises to reignite the spirit of Camden Market.
The Interchange Atrium, opened in May 2016 to much fanfare – one of London’s most innovative office spaces.

The Interchange opened the Atrium with one goal: to rejuvenate Camden Market. It is the original melting pot of culture and arts – the older brother of Shoreditch – melding a rich history of old-fashioned entrepreneurship with new and original music and film. Anywhere you go in the world, the name Camden brings with it a trademark of creativity and daring.

With this in mind, The Interchange have developed a very clean cut, slightly futuristic workspace spread out across 84,000 square feet with the ability to truly make it your own. The building which is accessible right from within Stables Market is perfect for growing your startup or creative business. It includes its own restaurant, innovation lab, cafe, bar, and gym (coming 2017). It has everything the modern worker could possibly want.

One aspect that helps the space pip competition are its retails links with the Camden Markets. Startups will have the unique opportunity to establish their own retail space in the iconic Camden Markets, which has over 28 million visitors per year and is London’s third largest business district after the City and Westminster.

“We took key inspiration from the heritage in the market as a key ‘Interchange’ of commerce and trade and we’re now supporting the future of business in Camden,” said Vanessa Butz, Managing Director of Interchange. “This area is the ultimate space for new companies to begin their journeys due to the robust community of creatives, artists and designers.”

Furthermore, you’ll be working amongst some of the finest interiors in London with chief designer Tom Dixon adding his touch of class to the furniture and lighting. Tom Dixon is a British product design brand with a commitment to innovation and a mission to revive the British furniture industry. He is inspired by the nation’s unique heritage and produces extraordinary objects for everyday use. Interchange has been designed by Design Research Studio under his creative direction.
His previous projects include the Harrods Cafe, Royal Academy of Arts and Circus London. Inspiration from all of those have been applied to the Atrium’s private offices and super co-working areas also thereby making it the perfect spot to impress clients and energise employees.

The infrastructure of the various offices from co-working to private have been designed by leading architects Barr Gazetas. They are intertwined and intermingle across the different floors thereby providing a real community focus through skilful curation of complex floor plans and space use.

Like Camden as a whole, the Atrium manages to capture a real sense of community. Genuine thought has been put into the things that companies truly value – including high-end showers, a discounted bar and restaurant with fresh ingredients and unique cocktails, free printing, free meeting rooms, rooftop bean bag areas for breakouts and regular community events. The Atrium boasts its own courtyard, ideally shaped to facilitate connectivity across the space. All members also receive discounts on food and items in the surrounding Camden markets.

The Hubble team have absolutely loved working from here so far.

Tess was really excited when she found out there were on-site manicures and masseuses to help her through the day – available to book on select days. She also really values the huge variety of herbal teas and coffee roaster that is maintained every few hours – perfect to keep her going throughout the day. “I really love the fact there is natural light surrounding the co-working space – almost an entire 360 degrees around! It’s also equally distant from Camden Town and Chalk Farm so easy to commute to and from.”

In addition, there are regular free training workout sessions on Tuesday mornings if employees can’t make it into the gym but need that essential kick to start the day. The Atrium Gym will also be opening in 2017. The space really does want to be the perfect combination of work and life.

Chai Alleyne from The Interchange emphasises “what really makes Interchange Atrium different is the flexibility to grow for companies. Indeed a new startup could stay at the space right from being a 1 person hot-desk right up to an established company needing one of the private office spaces.”

To that end, it would be perfect for startups and small businesses in the creative and tech industries who are focused on growth. The Interchange Atrium could therefore actually stay as your home for the many years to come, whilst continuing to allow for flexibility should you wish to increase or decrease in size along the way.

Nick, who has worked in commercial property for a number of years, is really impressed with the Atrium’s co-working space: “At Atrium I have enjoyed being based in a secure, state of the art building in the heart of Camden’s famed Stables Market – surrounded by an an array of high quality food traders every day.”
