Did you know that Soho was home to Mozart, Karl Marx and The Sex Pistols?
Forget all the clichés – this neighbourhood has so much more to offer than a little sleazy red light district.
Bursting with new office space opening up on its streets, Soho also hosts the world’s most famous media companies.
The word “eclectic” seems to have been invented in Soho
If you go South, you’ll find yourself playing after-hours poker in Chinatown shops; the West will greet you with unforgettable nights and the midpoint will steal your heart – old record shops, food from around the world and prestige designer shops will convince you to never leave.
Who works in Soho?
The creatives, the media, and the startups. The world’s most famous advertising, TV production and publishing houses are all located within a few square metres. New office spaces, coworking spaces and startup incubators are also popping up as we speak!
How to get there?
Soho is at heart of Central London and can be accessed by all major tube lines and bus routes. This includes Tottenham Court Road, Oxford Street, Regent Street, Leicester Square, Picadilly Circus, Holborn, Trafalgar Square, Embankment and Covent Garden stations.
If you’re having a James Bond day you could rock up to the office in style, in a river bus – this is the best way to avoid London’s peak hour. A beautiful start to the day will keep you awake!
Soho secrets
Spend too much time indoors sitting and staring at a computer screen? Soho is also famous for summer lunch time Ping Pong tournaments. Play in the open air.
The world’s best shopping happens right here. Start at Beak street. Once you get yourself a new wardrobe (or if you head to Berwick street get fabrics for your new custom tailored jacket), pop into Soho’s record stores.
There’s nothing more special than getting up in the morning to the smell of fresh coffee. Get your beans from the Soho Grind espresso bar, relax and make your mornings last!
Every year over 500,000 Londoners use Barclays bikes (better known as Boris bikes, named after London’s mayor). Here in London cycling is a lifestyle, not only a way of getting around the city.
If you are new to Soho, the best pace to meet a few locals and join exciting happenings (and rides) is a cycle club called Rapha CC.
They sell bikes, tell you about the best routes and make yummy lunch. You can also head to Soho Bikes to find out about in-store events or if you get a puncture on your way to work and need it fixed! Did we just land in cycle heaven?
During one of your work breaks head to The Photographers Gallery to learn about the most recent photography happenings!
