Liverpool Street in three words

Cosmopolitan, fast and contrastive.

What it’s like to work there—in a nutshell

You’re never too far away from anyone or anything. It’s all right there on your doorstep.

The benefits of working in Liverpool Street

Some people say it’s impossible to get the best of both worlds, but not here. When you base your office in Liverpool Street, you’re on the teetering edge of London City and London East, which both merge into the area by some sort of osmosis. The result? A perfect blend of busy-business-district-meets-social-hotspot.

LStreet station

We’re not kidding, with so many bars in the area, it’s ironic that the name contains the word ‘liver’. Let’s just say, if your team is up for after-work drinks, they’re in the right place.

Liverpool Street also offers up a variety of commute options. You’ve got the historic Liverpool Street station taking care of the overground and the Liverpool Street tube station which is served by the Central, Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines. Whether your team is making their way to the office every day or your clients have booked a meeting, you’re easy to reach.

The best places in Liverpool Street for team lunch

Old Spitalfields Market

Just a short walk away, you’ll find Old Spitalfields Market and their many, many stalls of gastronomic delights. From dosa to dim sum, a trip to the market gives your team the choice to try a little bit of everything. So grab a pew and tuck in.

Broadgate Circle

Another location that’s bursting with variety, Broadgate Circle is a nearby spot with lots of room for big teams. Head to Franco Manca for pizza, or the amazing Island Poké for fresh, vibrant, healthy bowls.

Breakfast Club Spitalfields

Tucked away on a side street opposite Liverpool Street Station, Breakfast Club serves up the most important meal of the day far beyond 11:59am. Despite its name, the menu includes much more than multiple variations of eggs, making it a viable team lunch option. Plus, you can book, which is always a plus.

The best places in Liverpool Street for after-work drinks

The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town

After you’ve had lunch at Breakfast Club (yep, the one we just mentioned) go back in about five hours and tell the host that you’re ‘here to see the mayor’. They’ll lead you through the Smeg fridge, downstairs to Breakfast Club’s secret underground bar, The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town. Great drinks, tasty bar snacks and did we mention you enter through a fridge?!

The Culpeper

The Culpeper spans across four levels, but for a great night out, you only need the ground floor and the rooftop. Starting from the bottom, their pub is everything you want a pub to be—traditional, with lots of seats and a well-stocked bar. Come spring, their rooftop garden is a lush, green oasis high above busy streets, with cocktails inspired by the ingredients grown in their on-site greenhouses. A team favourite, for sure.

By Appointment Only

A hidden cocktail bar that was once home to a Turkish bath, By Appointment Only delivers on all fronts. The original features are worth the trip alone, and that’s before you catch a glimpse of their incredible drinks menu. As the name suggests, it’s bookings only, which is actually great news if you’re looking to plan a team night out in advance.

Humble Grape

A bar that has nothing to be humble about, Humble Grape has a collection of over 400 artisan wines sourced directly from vineyards all over the world. There’s just something about long conversations in wine bars that help to spark great ideas, and this one is no exception.

The best places in Liverpool Street for team activities

Swingers

Two golf courses. Three restaurants. Five bars. No, we’re not suggesting you fly to a Caribbean resort for a team activity (although, we’re sure people wouldn’t object) but instead, head to Swingers, a crazy golf venue right here in Liverpool Street. You can book a full food/drink/game package, which makes it a one-stop-shop for big teams.

The Culpeper

We’re back here again! The Culpeper regularly put on events and activities that offer up unique experiences for your team, like rooftop astronomy or make-your-own terrarium workshops. Keep an eye on their events page for more.

Flight Club

The first rule of Flight Club? Tell your whole team about it. Darts probably isn’t the first thing you think of when it comes to a team activity, but Flight Club have turned the slow game from your local pub, into a fast-paced challenge for everyone to enjoy.
