One year on from first opening its doors to London’s youngest and most ambitious businesses, Headspace, a provider of beautifully-designed office space, is expanding its operations!
In addition to stylish new offices and modern meeting-rooms, tenants now get access to a brand new event space (which, rumour has it, is perfect for a spot of afternoon bikram!).
To get an idea of what it’s like in the new space, we sat down with Joelle Hadfield, Co-Founder and CEO of FightMe.com, and long-time Headspace denizen. Here’s what she had to say.
Can you tell me about FightMe?
Joelle: FightMe is the first challenge-based social video network. Founded in 2013, FightMe invites you to join in challenges and create your own. You have 30 seconds to make a video about whatever you want.
How long have you been a Headspace member?
Joelle: We became Headspace members at the beginning of January 2014 – almost one year ago already!
What first attracted you to Headspace?
Joelle: Our previous office was based in Soho and we felt a little disconnected from the London tech scene, so having a mix of up-and-coming tech companies in the same space was a big pull. The design of the office was also a major factor. There is really nothing else like it in the area.

What’s the best feature of Headspace you couldn’t get anywhere else?
Joelle: I asked everybody in the FightMe team to answer this. The verdict was unanimous: Andrew!
How has the Headspace community helped your business?
Joelle: It has been great being able to bounce ideas off other founders in the same industry. For example, we’ve been able to work closely with one of our neighbours to help expand our FightMe team.
How do you spend your lunch breaks?
Joelle: When we have a free moment, we usually like to get the team involved in creating a video for one of our challenges on Fightme.com. If you happen to walk past our office during the day, you might catch a team member in fancy dress or creating a Sellotape selfie. We also do a #danceoffthursday where we challenge other startups to a dance-off. The Headspace boys and a few other companies have joined in with a few of our challenges, which shows how relaxed the atmosphere can be.
Top 3 reasons for a Londoner to join Headspace?
I would say my top 3 reasons are:
- Leather Lane is literally 30 seconds away: we get to enjoy some of the best street food in London every day.
- The location: Headspace is bang in the middle of everything, both the East and West ends are quickly and easily accessible.
- The offices: the Headspace team are always happy to provide help, whether it be advice on a certain aspect of your business or simply a case of “we need more milk.”
